About the Instructor:
Natalie Holt MacDonald is a renowned figure in the Southern California entertainment industry. Being homeschooled all the the way through high school, Natalie found her community in dance classes, theater, and church programs. She found her love of performing at a young age performing in youth theater programs (Young Artist’s Ensemble in Thousand Oaks) and in community theater productions. She even played “Dorothy” in The Wizard of Oz and “Leisl” in The Sound of Music at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. She also trained in dance in some notable dance studios such as Patsy Swayze’s Dance Studio, Dance Unlimited, and Pam Rossi’s Dance Ten. Natalie began training singing and piano with CeeCee Mills in Camarillo.
Natalie earned her Associate’s Degree in Vocal Performance at Moorpark College and participated in several school event including playing “Velma” in Chicago, playing “Mabel” in Pirates of Penzance, and traveling with the Moorpark College Vocal Ensemble to Esterhazy, Austria to sing in the Classic Music Festival.
Beginning her professional career in 2012, Natalie has performed in several theater productions regionally, nationally, and even in international waters. Some of her most notable credits include: “Sandy” in Grease at 5-Star Theatricals, “Kathy” in Singing in the Rain at Musical Theater West, “Hannah” in the Los Angeles premiere of Allegiance (starring George Takei; directed by Snehal Desai) at East West Players, “Rudolph” in the national tour of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with McCoy Rigby Entertainment, and “Rudolph” again in a sit-down production at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. Natalie has also performed as a principal singer in Mickey and the Magical Map at Disneyland Anaheim, as a character at Universal Studios Hollywood, and as a mainstage performer and vocal captain on the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship.
Natalie has also worked in front of the camera as well. Some of those credits include: a lead in the film Hot Pink, a lead in the short film Self Tape, a co-star on Nickelodeon’s Danger Force, a co-star on Amazon Prime’s I’m a Virgo, and a guest star on ABC’s 20/20. Natalie
Most recently Natalie was the swing in the Los Angeles Revival of Reefer Madness where she got to work with incredible talents such as Kristen Bell, Christian Campbell, Spencer Liff, Kevin Murphy, and Dan Studney, Thomas Dekker, and Nicole Parker. She even got to sing on the Reefer Madness Revival cast album which was released in January 2025
Currently, Natalie is playing the role of “Ethel” in the world premiere of One for My Baby, starring Lana Gordon and Luba Mason. The musical, written and directed by Scott Thompson, and arranged and music directed by Fred Barton, will be playing at the El Portal in North Hollywood March 15-23, 2025. Natalie's singing teaching method is a unique and comprehensive approach that focuses on nurturing each student's individual voice while instilling a strong foundation in vocal technique. She believes in creating a safe and supportive environment where students can explore and express their musicality. Natalie's method emphasizes the importance of proper breath control, vocal warm-ups, and exercises designed to improve vocal range, flexibility, and tone. Additionally, she incorporates the use of visualizations, body awareness techniques, and performance coaching to help her students connect deeply with their emotions and deliver impactful performances. With her vast knowledge and years of experience, Natalie's teaching method empowers her students to unlock their full potential and become confident and skilled singers.
